  • Selection method of voltage regulator

    1、 Function of voltage regulator: 1. It can stabilize the voltage of low voltage 125V-165V or high voltage 250V-270V between 200-230V, so that household appliances can work normally;

    2. When the input voltage is higher than 255-275V or lower than 125-160V, the power can be automatically cut off;

    3. When the power suddenly comes back in after a power outage, the output power can be delayed by 5-8 minutes to avoid damage to the electrical appliances due to high voltage. When choosing a household voltage regulator, it is important to pay attention to the completeness of the three basic functions mentioned above.

    2、 Classification of voltage regulators: The first type is manual voltage regulators, which have been largely phased out due to their inconvenient operation

    The second type is an automatic voltage regulator:

    (1) Pole type automatic voltage regulator: High end voltage regulators use servo motors to control voltage. Its advantage is that there is no instantaneous power outage, the output voltage is stable, and the voltage stabilization accuracy is generally 3-5%. It is suitable for high-end and high voltage demanding electrical appliances, such as computers and testing equipment.

    (2) Relay type automatic voltage regulator: using relay switching to adjust the output voltage, the voltage fluctuates greatly and the accuracy is relatively low. Used for mid-range voltage regulators, such as the Boat Wave TM series high-power adapter automatic AC voltage regulator, this type of product has high stability and low price, suitable for equipment with low voltage accuracy requirements.

    3、 Principles for selecting voltage regulators:

    When purchasing a voltage regulator, it is recommended that you choose a regulator with at least three times the actual power, as the regulator needs to overcome the surge impact of mains power and the starting impact of inductive loads (such as refrigerators, air conditioners, motors, and electric motors) in actual operation.

    When a voltage regulator is used for inductive loads, due to the large instantaneous starting current of inductive loads, which is generally about 3-5 times the rated current and often exceeds 9 times the operating current (such as refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, fans, large air conditioners, printing machines, air compressors, elevators, water pumps, etc. are all inductive loads). Therefore, any voltage regulator that is equipped with inductive loads such as motors and compressors must consider its power reserve and leave enough margin to avoid immediate damage to the voltage regulator caused by the impact current generated when the load is turned on. If a voltage regulator is used throughout the factory, it should be avoided to start high-power inductive loads at the same time when starting the machine. Therefore, when selecting a voltage regulator, there should be a reserved capacity of 1.5 times, and the reserved capacity for a single machine should be 3 times.

    When choosing a voltage regulator, it is also important to choose products with high brand awareness, as these manufacturers have reliable quality and attentive service; At the same time, whether the manufacturer has good after-sales service, such as implementing the three guarantees for product quality, is also an important factor that consumers should pay attention to. The submarine wave stabilizer is a product insured by the People's Insurance Company of China, and can be used with confidence.

    When wiring, use cooking appliances Put it on a route (such as an induction cooker, water heater, etc.) Put household appliances along the way (Air conditioner, refrigerator, fan) and then go all the way to TV, computer, etc That's enough The main function of a voltage regulator is to ensure that the mains power is unstable and fluctuates greatly (150-250V), and cannot remain stable at a single number for a long time. It is generally required to be around 220V, and positive or negative 5V is not necessary Unless there is a constant low voltage of 220V, then you should consider one If you use it, you may not necessarily use all the devices at home For more expensive appliances, not necessarily for others. You can refer to the instruction manual, which provides the voltage range.
